CamilleM was born in the Alpine mountains and raised on the shores of the Mediterranean sea. She grew up in a warm and comfortable home, but a cold and harsh household. This ambivalence is reflected in her work.

She watches the world in search of contrasting details. Her eye would spot a discarded sad rag in an otherwise cheerful setting. She gives a central place in her work to things that most people would miss.

From her youth experiences she developed an interest in the functioning of the mind, the psychology of interpersonal relations and their implications. She explores those themes in her personal creative projects.

Mostly self-taught, she is not bound by aesthetic conventions.
